Locking the Printer Menus

Take the printer Off-Line by pressing the On-Line key.  Press the Setup key and you should see Print, Menu, Back, & Next.  Press Next until you see MenLock in the display.   Select MenLock by pressing the key under it.  You then have three choices if you scroll by pressing the key under an arrow.  MenLock = Off, MenLock = Menu, MenLock = All.  If you select Menu the Setup Menu is locked out.  If you select All, the keys for Paper, Font and CPI  are also locked out.  When you power the printer off and on these settings will be activated.

Unlocking the Printer Menus

To unlock and access the printer menus, power the printer on while holding down the Setup key. To keep menus unlocked when printer is powered off, set the MenLock parameter within the menu to MenLock = None

Follow these instructions in the order given:

IMPORTANT - Please complete step 1 for Turning AUTOTEAR  OFF before setting top of form

• TURNING AUTOTEAR OFF - Unload paper by taking printer offline and pressing the down arrow key. Press the Setup key. Press the Next key until Autotear option is displayed and press key for Autotear. Viewtear is displayed. Press the < key until display shows ViewTear=off. Press the Set key.
• SETTING THE FORM LENGTH - Press the Paper key (the key under the display NOT the top left key). Press Tractor1 key, press FormLen key and press Lines key. Use the < or > to set the form length to the length of your paper in lines where 6 lines = 1inch so that 66 lines = an 11inch form length. Press the Set key and exit menu by pressing the Setup key. 
• SETTING TEAR OFF POSITION - Load paper in first 3 pins of tractor and press the Load key. Place printer online and press the Tear key. Use the Up/Down keys to fine tune the papers perforation to the tear off edge and press the Set key. In most cases this is all that is required to get text aligned and Tear off at the proper position. If you need to set Top of Form for pre printed forms follow on from item 4.
• SETTING THE TOP OF FORM POSITION - Put the printer offline and open top cover. Press TOF key and the paper will advance. The top of the clear plastic guide attached to the printhead is the position at which the bottom of the first printed line will appear. Press the Up/Down key to place the form at the position required for your first printed line. Press the Set key, close lid and put printer online. The printer is now set

NOTE - If the above procedure does not work power on the printer holding down all four keys under the printer's LCD display which will restore the factory default values. Then follow steps 1 to 4 again. Please note all the printer menu settings will have to be setup from scratch so any settings that you have made will change back to default.
