| D5 YK Solenoid Error |
|
The message D5 YK solenoid is telling you that the oval wheels in the front cover are not pushing in the cartridges properly. To resolve this open the front cover and take out the cartridges then reseat them making sure they are able to move freely backwards and forwards in the slots. Then close the front cover and if the message still appears you will need to contact our Field Service Department by clicking here |
| Energy Save Should Be Disabled |
|
It is best that you leave it on with energy saving disabled, then turn the printer on and off as required. The reason for disabling energy saving is because if it is enabled and the printer goes into energy saving mode, it can lose its network connection. There shouldn't be any problems if you are connecting through a parallel interface. |
| Call for Service E9 Belt Marker Error |
|
The printer has a registration marker on the green OPC belt. This marker allows the printer to know where the OPC belt starts and finishes. When you get the above error the printer cannot see the OPC marker. You can attempt to clear this error yourself but if it persists call for our Field Service Engineers! You need to open the printer’s front door to allow the toner cartridges to release away from the OPC. Then, open the top cover to expose the OPC belt. Lift the two green clips and pull the OPC belt upwards following the diagrams on the top of the OPC. Reseat it and shut the top cover and the front door in this order. Power the printer off/on. If the E9 error clears then comes back shortly after printing make sure that the printer is on a strong level surface and try the above procedure again. If the error message still will not clear call for our Field Service Engineers! |
| Printing on A5 Paper |
|
Unfortunately the T8004 does not support A5 paper within the Printer Driver, even though you may be able to physically fit the paper into the Cassette Tray. A list of supported Paper and Envelope Sizes may be found in the T8004 User's Manual contained on the Printer Driver CD-Rom on Page 3-11. |

The Consumables Warning Message will now be reset until the next occurrence. |
| Media Mismatch Error |
| If someone was printing on transparencies previously you must make sure that the Transparencies setting in Media Choice in the T8004 printer driver is set back to Standard before printing on normal paper and vice versa. |
| Where is the Waste Toner Pack? |
|
The waste toner pack is positioned in the front of the printer on the right hand side. To replace it open the front cover and remove the waste toner pack. Use the label on the side of the old waste toner pack to seal the opening. Insert a new waste toner pack and reset the menu to show this has been done. If the pack is not full check that it is seated properly in the printer. The waste toner pack should last approximately 12,000 pages (one sided) @ 5% coverage of each colour. Part Number for the Waste Toner Pack - 044959 |
| Fuser cleaning roller |
Is it possible to buy the fuser cleaning roller without having to buy it combined with an oil bottle? Yes it has a part number 375940 |
| Print Speed Black printing |
|
With the T8004 you must tell the printer to print black and white only (mono) in the driver. In the WIN95 driver choose the Graphics Tab, then Color then "Print in black and white only". In the NT4 driver choose Advanced>Graphics>Color>Appearance>Gray Scale. Also do not forget to click the Collate box off in your application |
| Error Message F#???????? i960 Fault |
|
This fault can be caused by several factors. It basically means that the T8004 printer cannot interpret the data that has been sent to it (because it is not recognised WPS data), so will not print. Unless the communication between the host and printer is perfect you can get this i960 error or the canceling job message. Therefore, firstly make sure that the interface cable you are using to connect the printer is correctly attached (if parallel we recommend that the IEEE1284 cable is used and that it does not exceed 2 meters in length). If this fails to produce a printout check your Windows LPT1 Parallel Port settings within the Printer Driver Properties:- Start --> Settings --> Printers Right Mouse Click on the T8004 driver icon Go to Properties and Left Mouse Click Select the Details Heading Look at the "Print to the following Port" item You may find it states "LPT1 ECP Printer Port?" The T8004 will not work correctly with this ECP setting enabled. To disable this please click here |
| Can I print using LPR or Telnet? |
| Yes, but the printer does not work with Telnet, LPR or FTP. You may only print to the T8004 using the Win Port as described in Tally T8004 User Manual Page D-2. |
