  Printer Has The Wrong Identity
The printer gives the wrong identity in it's test page (Status Page) and to the PC when using Plug And Play. This can be corrected by downloading the Printer Identity file to the printer. See Technical Note

  Performing A Hex Dump
This printer is not capable of performing hex dump printing unless the Network interface unit is installed. With the Network interface installed, you can use the software utility SyncThru to communicate with the printer and set the emulation to Hex Dump. Resetting to PCL emulation is also achieved using the same utility.

Restoring Factory Defaults In The Printer
This function is only available using the Remote Control Panel. This is a software utility supplied with the printer which runs under Windows and you will find a Default button for resetting the printer.

  Printing the Current Printer Configurations
To print the current printer configurations, follow these instructions.
  • Press and hold the button on the top of the printer until the lights start flashing. If you release the button, the printer will print a configuration page.
  Printing the Cleaning Page
To print the cleaning page, follow these instructions.
  • Press and hold the button on the top of the printer until the lights start flashing. Now wait until the lights start flashing faster. Now release the button and the printer will produce a cleaning page which will remove any loose toner from inside your printer that can get onto the paper. (Note: After pressing the button, there will be a short delay before the lights start flashing.)
  Printer Firmware Version

To discover the printer firmware version print the Current Printer Configurations and look for the Software versions in the lower section of the status page.

  Printing Via External Print Server
These printers will print from external print servers but you will need to use a power supply for the external print server.

  Power Save Mode
The printer does have a power save mode which will allow the printer to power down the heating element in the fuser when it has not been used for a while. This can be disabled using the Remote Control Panel.
