Shipment of used Drum Unit (Process Unit)

If it is required to ship a printer, where a used process unit has to be removed and shipped separately, or when shipping a used process unit on its own, it is important that the toner cartridge is secured so that toner cannot escape.

To achieve this it is essential that the toner cartridge is taped up in the normal upright position as shown below.

Do not unlock the cartridge, and do ensure that the tape is not stuck onto the green drum.

Pack the taped up used unit in a black bag to ensure that light cannot get onto the drum surface and secure the bag. A bin bag is an ideal bag to use. Then pack the unit into a box so that the green drum is not knocked during transportation. The use of flopack or similar is recommended.
