To update the printers Ethernet firmware it is necessary to use SyncThru. This is the utility supplied on the
CD which comes with the
optional ethernet card 043114.
Using SyncThru, select the printer, then maintenance, and then upgrade firmware which will produce the following screen on your pc.
Enter the firmware file name or browse to find it. The file normally is named XXXX.bin. Note that it is important that the directory path to the file is not too long otherwise SyncThru will not download the file. Click on Start. The screen will show: Waiting for request Firmware upgrading with a progress level. Eventually it will come up the screen below
When this is shown wait 30 seconds and then power the printer off. Wait 30 seconds and then power the printer back on. Using SyncThru, select the printer, then Maintenance and then test page. It should print out a sheet which includes the firmware version, check that this is correct version. |
