Adjustment Of Automatic Paper Loading Position

This note explains how to set and adjust the Automatic Paper Loading Position on the Tally MT83 & MT84 printers.

The paper load position for automatic paper loading is set to a default position at the Factory. However, you can adjust the Automatic Paper Loading Position by following a few simple steps.

Before trying to set the Automatic Paper Loading Position, you will need to verify that LOAD option has not been set to ON LINE in the Printer Menu. To print out the Menu you will need to power the Printer ON whilst holding down the FUNCTION/ON-LINE and PITCH buttons simultaneously. If this option has been set then you will not be able to adjust the Load Position. If it has been set then you will need to change the LOAD option back to Off Line (Default Setting) in the Printer Menu.

Procedure for Setting/Adjusting the Automatic Paper Loading Position

  • Load Continuous Stationary into Printer.
  • Initiate Paper Load on the Printer (Press Load Button).
  • Press and hold down the FUNCTION/ON-LINE button and then press one of the Arrow Buttons on the Printer to Micro Feed Up and Down. The adjustable range is between - 1/6" and +1" from the Factory default position. If the set position is out of this range, the setting will be ignored (The alarm sounds).
  • Press the ON-LINE Button to save the new Automatic Loading Position.
  • Press the FORM FEED button to terminate the Automatic Loading Position Adjustment.
