Evolution of T2040 & T2140 Printers Through to T2150 & T2250

T2040 & T2140 released in 1998

Available in narrow carriage (T2040), wide carriage (T2140) and cutter version (T2040S). Separate versions for 120v and 220v power supply as the PSU is not switchable.

September 2000 New printers released

• Extra character sets introduced

• 4Mb Flash ROM controller board with 9pin serial and parallel I/O onboard.
• Printer needed extra flash ROM memory for options. I.E. Dec LA75

March 2002 T2255 introduced

The SprintPro T2255 is based on the T2245. Print speeds has been increased for better performance and a number of significant improvements have been made. Printer has the new 120v/230v switchable PSU.

• New Print head with needle shift mechanism improves print quality p/n 455410.
• Print speed of 550cps @ 10cpi
• New 16Mb flash memory controller board p/n 448544 with F/W 048522
• New more powerful DC carriage motor p/n 61439
• New powerful LF motor p/n 61406
• Overseas character sets implemented.
• Heavy Forms Mode.
• Interlock sensor on top cover.
• New ribbon with 10 Million-character life developed and introduced.

In common with the T2145 and T2245, a wide range of options are available, such as additional tractors, sheet feeders, interfaces and emulations.

July 2003, T2150 and T2250 introduced.

The new printers are now released; T2150 replaces the T2145 narrow column, T2250 replaces the T2245 wide column printer and T2145S cutter version is replaced by T2150S

Majority of the parts are identical to T2145 & T2245 range of printers. The main differences are new controller board, new F/W, new DC carriage motor and all the casing parts are in new light grey Tally colour.

• New 8Mb flash memory 180dpi controller board with F/W 048787
• Heavy Forms Mode.
• New more powerful DC carriage motor p/n 61439 (same as T2255)
• All casing covers have new Tally colour. see service note T2x50 TN001 for parts list.

Firmware is not backward compatible i.e. 048787 f/w can not be loaded into T2040, T2140, T2145, T2245 or T2255 printers. But the optional emulation and TUK Overseas font packs from T2040 and T2140 printers can be loaded into T2150 & T2250 printers (i.e. Dec La75,MT50 etc..).

In common with the T2145 and T2245, a wide range of options are available, such as additional tractors, sheet feeders, interfaces and emulations, these may have different part number due to different colour of the covers.( i.e. the sheet feeders covers will have new Tally colour)
